FAQ

Common questions

Does my server need to be on the same network?

No. Minecart proxies all game traffic, so your Geyser server can be anywhere on the internet. Players connect through the Minecart device, which relays the connection to your server transparently.

Do players need to install anything or change any settings?

Nothing at all. Minecart works at the network level. Players just open Minecraft Bedrock and your server appears in the LAN tab automatically — on consoles, mobile, and PC alike.

Will it affect other devices on my network?

No. Minecart operates as a transparent bridge — it doesn't act as a router, doesn't create a new subnet, and doesn't intercept traffic meant for other devices. It's invisible to everything else on the network.

What Minecraft servers is it compatible with?

Minecart works with any server running GeyserMC — the most popular Bedrock compatibility layer. If your Java server has Geyser installed and a Bedrock port open, Minecart will work with it.

How do I change my server after initial setup?

Browse to http://minecart.local from any device on the network, enter new server details, and click Save. Changes apply within 30 seconds — no reboot needed.

What if I can't reach minecart.local?

Check your router's DHCP client list for a device named "minecart" and use that IP address directly in your browser. mDNS (.local hostnames) works on most home networks but may be blocked on some managed networks.

Can I use it with multiple servers or switch between them?

Minecart broadcasts one server at a time. You can change the server any time via the web UI — it updates live within 30 seconds. If you need to broadcast multiple servers simultaneously, you'd need multiple Minecart devices.

What's in the box? Is a power adapter included?

The box includes the Minecart appliance (pre-flashed), an ethernet cable, and a USB Micro-B cable. A USB power adapter is not included — any standard 5V/1A USB charger works, including phone chargers you likely already own.
